The Bliss of DISS!

This is not a drill folks! It’s time to get your DISS Account in high gear!

Here at FSO PRO, we attend a lot of SVAs… even during a quarantine, that has not changed. While in-person SVAs are still on-hold indefinitely, the Continuous Monitoring teleconferences are popping up left and right! (Glad I watched that YouTube on how to look better on streaming conference calls!)

As we attend these events, DCSA Reps are sharing changes and news from the Agency so that we are still up-to-date (in addition to all the Counter Intelligence information sent by our CISAs on a weekly basis).

So what is the big push? Glad you asked!

If our headline did not tip you off—it is all about DISS. If you have been subscribing to this newsletter for a while, you know that DISS is the system that will replace JPAS, so they have said… for over two years, amiright?

The Bliss of DISS!

This is not a drill!

Well—that isn’t just a “coming attraction” anymore. Before the next Wonder Woman movie is released— FSOs will be using DISS on a regular basis. DISS is really on the way and it case you doubted it— DCSA has decided to make it a bit more critical for Facility Clearances!

As I type this newsletter, there is an Industry Letter draft in place which informs industry that if they do not have their DISS account in place by no later than 15 October (but they want it much earlier), DCSA will consider them “Non-compliant” and “in danger of having their FCL terminated.

That is not a typo—it is that serious!

Need more incentive?

If your DISS account is not active for your organization by 1 January 2021, it is very likely that your facility clearance will be terminated. So, if you have been putting it off at all, today is that day!

Caveat: This information was repeated to us more than once during SVAs in May. However, each time it was emphasized that it was still a draft.

Countdown for DISS!

Chances are, if you are a regular reader of this newsletter, you have NOT procrastinated getting your DISS Account, but in case you have, here is the countdown of what you should accomplish ASAP:

3! Take the PII Training: https://public.cyber.mil/training/cyber-awareness-challenge/ or have one in the last calendar year.

2! Take the Cyber Awareness Challenge Training: https://securityawareness.usalearning.gov/piiv2/index.htm or have one in the last calendar year.

1! Send both certificates with the current form—starting 4/1/2020, DISS will only accept PSSAR: DD form 2962 Volume 2, Jan 2020—filled out the RIGHT way and sent to DISS Provisioning. Need help with that? Ask THIS gal!

Send it all to: DCSA.dsca-northern.dcsa-dvd.mbx.diss-provisioning@mail.mil (protected!) & blast off!

Your DISS Account will come with new/different actions for FSOs/DISS Users:

  • Establishing back-up users,
  • Uploading CSRs (called RRUs in JPAS)
  • Submitting SF312s and having more visibility into Continuous Evaluation dates.

We are working on those cheat-sheets, or “smart cards”, or “quick references” now—available on the FSO PRO website soon!

The Bliss of DISS!We will close out this month with a “Dad Joke”

– see meme to your left –

and a special

“Happy Father’s Day! ” wish to all our FSO Dads out there.
