For Defense Contractors, September is one of the busiest times of the year. Summer is over, kids are back in school, and here at FSO PRO we usually refer to it as “Proposal Season” and most of the company gets involved!
True story: We were contacted by out DSS (now DCSA) Representative last week. She sent us an email on Wednesday wanting a “quick, 20 -minute ‘Advise & Assist’ call this Thursday”. She offered no list of information to review, just made it sound like a nice “how-ya-doing, friend?”
Last month, whenever FSO PRO had to work on a NISS issue for our clients, we often had to get on the phone with their Industrial Security Representative (ISR). As a result, many of them went ahead and “completed the Continuous Monitoring call” as a matter of convenience. Its always FUN when some- one gives you a surprise review, huh? Good times.
Hopefully by now, most of you have completed your Personnel Clearance projections for the next three fiscal years through NISS and learned the joys of using the NISS Database! If not, you have until April 5th to get that done! (Just a few days before taxes are due – aren’t government deadlines fun?)
It Is Time for Annual Predictions! No, not for the Oscars (although my money was on Rami Malek for his portrayal of Freddy Mercury in “Bohemian Rhapsody” and I nailed it!).
